First Contact

The world of the Star Trek fans once again turns its eyes to another film, yes "Star Trek VIII: First Contact".
The crew are the original Star Trek Next Generation (short of Worf from his departure to Deep Space Nine). The new ship
(below) is built as more of a ship to go to battle than explore new lifeforms and civilisations, but the film is about a
meeting with the Borg, so I suppose they needed a good weapon apart from the U.S.S. Defiant. Within thisage you will
find out about the story and also see pictures from the film. All pictures of the Enterprise E are rendered pictures, but
the screen shots are real.

Part 1 - The new ship

The new Enterprise, suited up with more powerful weapons including Quantum Torpedos and powered up lasers, looks as though it is built for a fight. The new uniforms are familiar, but different. The coloured (colored if American!!!) stripe is now grey, but their colour (jokes over!!!) is now on their collar. We will get used to it I suppose, but it got the thumbs down here. The new Bridge is different as well. It looks very diffenerent from the cosy Enterprise D bridge, it looks as though it has been designed by the sam person who designed the bridge in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country". Each step on the floor has a blue glow coming from it, and there is no riased level, the bar at the back is broken up into parts, and Pickard sits well back from Troy and Riker. The whole place looks rusty coloured as well, it is a mix between the original cream and a red rust colour. This with a blue glow from each step is a bit over the top, but lets see what you think?

Part 2 - The Story

The story is about the Borg as you may have guested, but this is no mission for Pickard to get upset, he must stop the Borg. According from certain sources it is another time travelling story, and if so haven't we had enough of these. This will be the fourth from "Voyage Home", "All good things..." and "Generations". But then "All good things..." was a success so maybe we haven't quite given up the Star Trek time travel theme yet. The film will be released early next year at present, but times are not precise at the present.

We will update you with the latest information.
Well on the theme of new things, the Trocodero Centre in London is going to have a little Star Trek shop or something, we don't quite know what this is yet as eye witnesses haven't explained whats happenning. The Trocodero Centre at Picadilly Circus is currently under refurbishment for the new Sega world being build there. Hopefully we can get more information, but here is a map uploaded my bin-mail.

So with a new film and museum coming, Star Trek lives on into 1997.
